NATCHITOCHES, La. – The UTSA women's tennis team was swept by Southern Miss on Saturday afternoon at the Lady Demon Tennis Complex.
The Golden Eagles secured the doubles point for a 1-0 lead from a forfeited No. 3 match and a 6-1 defeat of Stanislava Bobrovnikova and Eva Beyebach. The match of Aleksandra Zlatarova and Jasmin Starr was unfinished.
In singles, Sophie Omoworare was defeated by her opponent 6-0, 6-3 at No. 5. Jasmin Starr, on the No. 2 court, dropped a two-set match to her opponent, 6-1, 6-0. The matches at No. 1, 3 and 4 were unfinished.
UTSA will return home to host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 2 p.m. at the UTSA Tennis Center.
