UTSA earns 7-0 sweep over Prairie View on the road

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – The UTSA women's tennis got back in the win column with a 7-0 sweep over Prairie View on Saturday afternoon. 
 
The Roadrunners earned an early 1-0 lead after winning the doubles point. The pair of Eva Beyebach and Adeliya Mukhutdinova won the last court by default due to Prairie View not having enough players.  
 
Fatima Gutierrez and Alexandra Weir won their doubles court at the second spot, defeating Ruju Chauhan/Cierra Garcia by 6-0. Aleksandra Zlatarova and Magda Tuells the defeated the Panthers' Victoria Fuenmayor and Aleyla Wooten by 6-2 at the No. 1 spot to secure the doubles point.
 
In singles play, Beyebach won the sixth court by default. Tuells then defeated Prairie View's Anette Lira by both set scores of 6-0 at the No. 4 spot. Zlatarova secured the clinching fourth point at the top spot, taking down Fuenmayor by scores of 6-1 and 6-0. 
 
At the fifth spot, Stanislava Bobrovnikova defeated Cierra Garcia by both sets of 6-1. Weir battled with Wooten at the No. 2 court, defeating her by 7-5 and 6-2. Gutierrez then ended the match with a win over Chauhan at the third court by set scores of 6-0 and 6-1. UTSA secured a 7-0 sweep over Prairie View on Saturday. 
 
UTSA's record improves to 12-8 overall, while Prairie View's record falls to 4-21.   
 
UP NEXT: The Roadrunners return home for Senior Day, hosting Houston on April 7 at 1 p.m. The team will recognize senior captain Keegan McCain and all her contributions to the program during the senior ceremony.
