SAN ANTONIO—The UTSA softball team will host Tulsa in a three-game American Athletic Conference series across the weekend with a Fiesta-themed contest on Friday at 4 p.m. kicking off the festivities. Saturday will start at noon and serve as Fan Appreciation Day, ahead of Senior Day on Sunday at 11 a.m.
The Roadrunners (19-29, 4-17 The American) split earlier in the week, first taking down Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 8-2, before falling to Tarleton State, 8-4. Senior Camryn Robillard and sophomore Madison Lenton led the way at the plate in the win over the Islanders, with Robillard launching a home run and Lenton driving in three via a bases-clearing double. Five different squad members posted hits against the Texans, including freshman Skylar Rucker, newcomer Sabrina Wick, senior Crislyne Moreno, Lenton and Robillard.
The Golden Hurricane (19-27, 7-14 The American) suffered a 6-0 setback at the hands of Missouri State earlier in the week, and a lone victory over Wichita State in their last conference series snapped a 10-game losing streak.
Maura Moore has appeared regularly in the circle, starting 29 games and ranking third across the NCAA. She paces TU with a 13-14 record, tossing 10 complete games and maintaining a 4.19 ERA.
Offensively, Maci Cole owns a .336 batting average with a team-leading 81 total bases and 26 RBIs on the season. Celeste Wood tops the squad with 31 RBIs, and her six home runs are second behind Cole, who has seen nine softballs leave the yard.
