EUGENE, Ore. – Multi-event action commenced on Friday afternoon at historic Hayward Field during the third day of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The lone Roadrunner in action on Friday, Mia Lien worked through the first four events of the women’s heptathlon, sitting in 19th after the opening day of competition.
The day’s events opened in the early afternoon with the 100-meter hurdles section, Lien coming in 18th in the field via a 14.08 clocking. A redshirt freshman from Jakobsli, Norway, Lien then turned her focus to her best event in the multis, earning third place in the high jump with a 1.78m (5-10) height to jump up to fourth place in the standings. Lien produced a career-best 10.80m (35-5.25) in the shot put and a 25.52 clocking in the 200-meter – going 22nd in both events. Lien finished the opening day of events in 19th with 3,342 points.
Heptathlon competition will resume on Saturday for Lien with the long jump (5:30 p.m. CDT/3:30 p.m. PDT), javelin (6:45 p.m. CDT/4:45 p.m. PDT) and 800-meter (9:43 p.m. CDT/7:43 p.m. PDT).
Also in competition, 2025 American Athletic Conference triple jump champion, Rachela Pace is set to jump on Saturday at 8:10 p.m. CDT/6:10 p.m. PDT. In her first appearance at NCAA Outdoors.
