Kloza named American Defensive Player of the Week

IRVING, Texas – For the fourth time this season, a UTSA soccer Roadrunner has been announced for major weekly honors from the American Conference. Officials from the league office announced on Monday that Kameron Kloza has been named American Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Helping UTSA to defeat South Florida last Thursday and remain in second place on the American Conference standings, Kloza (Redshirt senior defender, San Antonio) secured the victory with the 78th-minute gamewinner on an aerial duel triumph to net the header. The Roadrunners allowed seven shots on goal against a hot-shooting Bulls team, while Kloza won all her aerial duels on the night, making five interceptions and four clearances.

Riding a nine-game stretch without a loss, the Roadrunners (7-2-5, 3-0-3 AMER) travel to Tulsa (7-4-5, 2-2-3 AMER) on Sunday, Oct. 19, to kick off a crucial final stretch of the season.
