SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA track & field teams kick off competition for the spring semester stretch of the 2025-26 indoor season on Friday, Jan. 23 into Saturday, Jan. 24, at Texas A&M’s Ted Nelson Invitational – on familiar ground at R.A. "Murray" Fasken '38 Indoor Track.
In the 18th season with Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Aaron Fox leading the combined program, the Roadrunners are competing in the second meet at the facility this indoor season, with one more to follow on the opening weekend of February. UTSA will be heading to College Station on Friday with a 38-athlete contingent (18 women, 20 men) to take on the two-day Ted Nelson Invitational competition. Roadrunners competing will feature a mixture of all disciplines.
Friday’s competition will only feature throws, as the men’s and women’s weight throw will be contested beginning at 4 p.m. at Fasken Track.
Saturday opens up at 10 a.m. with field events, starting on shot put, triple and long jump, then closing up with high jump beginning at 3:30 p.m. The running events will start with the 3,000-meter at noon, followed by the 60-meter hurdles, 60-meter, mile, 400-meter, 800-meter, 200-meter, distance medley relay and 4x400-meter relay – the final event set for 5:35 p.m.
The Roadrunners will line up against athletes from East Texas A&M, Houston, NMJC, North Texas, Odessa College, Rice, TCU, Texas State and host Texas A&M.
