SAN ANTONIO—The UTSA softball team is set to host Houston Christian on Tuesday, with first pitch set for 6 p.m.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Lincoln Rose (play-by-play) and Cat Osterman (analyst) on the call. Live stats can be found at utsa.statbroadcast.com and tickets are available for purchase at www.goutsa.com/sbtickets.
The Roadrunners (2-6) will take on the Huskies (1-7) after going 2-3 at last week's Puerto Vallarta College Challenge. UTSA picked up victories over Southern Illinois and Long Beach State, while also falling to the Salukis and Eastern Kentucky twice.
Junior Taryn Madlock and freshman Arlette Hernandez were each named to the all-tournament team, with Madlock hitting .500 with three RBIs and a pair of stolen bases, while Hernandez went 2-0 with a 1.94 ERA, two complete games, and 14 strikeouts over 18.0 innings. Also performing well, sophomore Sabrina Wick had nine hits at the tournament, and junior Samantha Mundine drove in six runs on seven hits.
HCU is fresh off a 1-3 showing at the Houston Invitational, which saw a 6-3 win over Lafayette and narrow losses to Pittsburgh, Michigan and Penn State.
Cara Pitman has picked up the squad’s lone win in the circle and has thrown two complete games. Addy Prasifka paces the team with eight strikeouts, and Leah Hammack is the ERA leader at 4.20. At the dish, Chloe Foster owns a .318 batting average and six RBIs. Jade Moreno and Karlie Barba have each launched home runs in 2026, while Foster has legged out the only triple.
