SAN ANTONIO – Looking to build off UTSA’s third conference championship crown, the UTSA women’s soccer team has announced the schedule for this spring’s opponents, heading into the ninth season under head coach Derek Pittman. UTSA’s spring 2026 slate will include five home games, two power conference road games and the annual alumni game, giving fans ample opportunities to catch the Roadrunners at home within the confines of the Park West Athletics Complex.
The 2025 Roadrunners swept through the American Conference Championships to the first American title and third conference crown overall, reaching the NCAA Championships for the third time. UTSA enters spring practices with 17 players returning from that championship roster, while welcoming three transfers and one early-admit high school recruit from the latest signing group.
“We wanted a spring slate that would push our group, and this schedule does exactly that,” Pittman said. “Facing programs from the Southland, Big 12 and SEC, plus quality competition like Seminole State and St. Mary’s, will expose us to different styles and demands. It’s about growth, competition, and setting our team standards early.”
The 2026 spring schedule opens on March 1 with a South Texas doubleheader, hosting back-to-back Southland Conference matchups against UT Rio Grande Valley and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at Park West. Just 20 days later, the Roadrunners will travel to Waco to face Baylor at Betty Lou Mays Field on March 21, with the Bears coming off a Big 12 Championships semifinal appearance and journey to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
The following weekend brings another doubleheader to Park West, hosting UIW and then Oklahoma-based Seminole State on March 28. The Roadrunners and UIW Cardinals have met in both the regular season and spring in each of the past two years and SSC is fresh off a 17-2-2 run to the NJCAA DI Soccer Championships semifinal – traveling to play the Roadrunners in San Antonio in each of the past two spring seasons.
Back on the road in April, the Roadrunners will travel to Austin to meet Texas at Mike A. Myers Stadium on April 11. The Longhorns are just one year removed from claiming the SEC crown in their first season in the conference.
Kicking off the final weekend of spring action, the Roadrunners will host the annual Alumni Game on Saturday, April 18, at Park West, while UTSA will close out the slate on Sunday, April 19, with cross-town foe St. Mary’s coming to Park West.
“Our Alumni Game is always one of the most meaningful moments of the spring as we celebrate 20 seasons of UTSA Soccer,” Pittman said. “It’s an opportunity to honor the players and teams who built this program, celebrate the championships we’ve won, and bring Roadrunners from every era back together to compete on the same field.”
