The Roadrunners (13-2) look to add to their tally of recent Power Four wins during a pair of bouts with the in-state Big 12 foe. Wednesday’s clash will be UTSA’s 10th straight away from home, capping their longest such stint of the regular season. Meanwhile, the Red Raiders (10-4) hope to build on their three-game winning streak and 9-1 record at home.

‘RUNNERS IN THE POLLS
On Monday, D1Baseball released its updated top-25 list after the first four weeks of the spring. UTSA earned its second straight spot in the poll, climbing to No. 24 after its second consecutive 3-1 week. Baseball America also ranked the Roadrunners, doing so for the first time this year at No. 24. At the end of the 2025 campaign, the ‘Runners earned a No. 13 distinction in the D1Baseball poll, solidifying the highest mark in program history.
MYLES BETTER
Graduate left-handed pitcher Conor Myles has been on a tear as of late. Across his last two starts, the Australian has dealt 10.1 scoreless innings while allowing just five total hits. The third-year Roadrunner has dipped his ERA down to 1.80 on the season, boasting an 18:5 strikeout-to-walk ratio. For his efforts, he was named to the American Conference Player of the Week Honorable Mention list on Monday.
TAKE ‘EM WHERE YOU CAN GET ‘EM
This year, UTSA has already been hit by 32 pitches, ranking 31st in the nation and highest in the conference. The squad has also drawn 86 walks through 15 games in 2026, totaling an average of 7.9 free bases per game. The Roadrunners have only failed to draw four bases on balls twice this year. The group is 0-2 in such games and 13-0 when tallying at least four walks.
FLY LIKE DOVE
Junior Kendall Dove has been simply shutting the opposition down early in 2026. The second-year Roadrunner has made four appearances on the mound, tallying 17.1 innings of work with a 3.63 ERA. Dove is now 2-0 on the season, striking out 12 batters and allowing seven earned runs. Batters are hitting .224 and have just one home run across his quartet of weekend starts.
NOT HIS FIRST RODEO
Freshman pitcher Jake Qualia is set to make a return to his hometown of Lubbock, Texas. The Lubbock Copper High School product has made six appearances out of the bullpen, totaling 12.1 innings pitched and a 2-0 record. Against No. 9 Coastal Carolina, the first-year Roadrunner closed out the final 4.2 innings of the 16-10 win, picking up his second collegiate victory.
ABOUT THE RED RAIDERS
Texas Tech is under the direction of 14th-year Head Coach Tim Tadlock, who holds a 483-280 record with the program. Last year, the squad finished 20-33 with a record of 13-17 in Big 12 play. This season’s unit started off 0-3, but has rattled off 10 wins in 11 games since. Over the weekend, Texas Tech swept Penn State by a collective score of 40-17, racking up two run-rule victories.
