SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will travel to Brooksville, Florida, for the American Conference Championship, which will be contested this Monday-Wednesday, April 20-22, at Southern Hills Plantation Club.
The Roadrunners will face Charlotte, East Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Memphis, North Texas, South Florida, Tulane, Tulsa, UAB and Wichita State in the 54-hole, stroke-play event.

This will mark UTSA’s third appearance in the American Conference Championship after finishing seventh last year and fifth in 2024 behind Abonce’s individual crown, both on this same Southern Hills Plantation Club course.
Lauren Rios tied for 13th with a 220 (71-74-75) and Morgan Ellison earned a share of 15th (73-75-71—221) to guide the Roadrunners to seventh place at the 2025 American Conference Championship. Daniela Abonce tied for 27th (78-72-74—224), Olivia Williams finished 43rd (78-77-75—230) and Maria Bastarrica was 48th (76-81-79—236).
UTSA owns four conference team titles in program history, which dates to 2005-06.
The Roadrunners captured a pair of Conference USA team and individual titles under head coach Summer Batiste, a two-time Conference USA Coach of the Year. The Roadrunners won back-to-back crowns in 2018 and 2019 behind individual medalists Julie Houston and Ana Gonzalez.
UTSA also claimed back-to-back conference crowns in 2011 and ’12 as members of the Southland Conference, teams that included Batiste during her playing career. The Roadrunners have three total runner-up finishes, in 2009 in the Southland and in 2014 and ‘22 in C-USA. In fact, UTSA has finished in the top five in the team standings at 16 of the last 17 conference tournaments.
Six Roadrunners have captured individual conference titles. Allie Jordan claimed the first in program history with the 2009 Southland Conference title and Shannon Jungmann won the 2012 Southland crown. Fabiola Arriaga was victorious in UTSA’s first Conference USA Championship appearance in 2014, before Houston and Gonzalez went back-to-back in 2018-19. Abonce claimed the 2024 American title in the Roadrunner’s debut at the tournament.
Rios paces the Roadrunners with a 74.4 stroke average over 30 rounds this season. The senior from Coppell, Texas, has posted nine par-or-better scorecards and four top-25 finishes in 2025-26. Her top showing was a tie for third with a 1-under 215 (71-70-74) at the Red Raider Invitational one week after she logged her best 54-hole total of 3-under 213 (72-71-70) to tie for 30th at the Sam Golden Invitational.
Abonce stands second on the squad with a 74.83 scoring average, and she shares the team lead with nine par-or-better scorecards, including a pair of sub-70 scores, in 30 rounds this season. The senior from Veracruz, Mexico, opened the campaign by firing an 8-under 208 that was capped by a 65 and 69 en route to tying for fourth at the Sam Golden Invitational.
Victoria Schuldt carries a 75.9 stroke average and seven par-or-better scores in 30 rounds during her true freshman season. The Hamburg, Germany, native registered her top finish by tying for 11th with a season-best 54-hole total of 4-under 212 (67-73-72) at the MountainView Collegiate.
Kayla Black has tallied a 76.04 average and six par-or-better scorecards in 27 rounds this season. The freshman from Mississauga, Ontario, posted her top 54-hole total of even-par 216 (72-71-73) at the Sam Golden Invitational, while her best finish was a tie for 26th at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate.
Bastarrica has recorded a 77.43 average in 21 rounds during her junior campaign. A native of San Sebastian, Spain, she turned in her top finish and 54-hole score at the MountainView Collegiate, where she tied for 34th with a 220 (72-76-72).
Sydney Bisgrove has appeared in six tournaments during her sophomore season, and she totes a 77.56 stroke average. A product of Calgary, Alberta, she registered her best 54-hole total and finish with a 4-under 212 (69-71-72) that earned her a share of 25th at the Sam Golden Invitational.
