UTSA earns spot in WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Top 25

FRISCO, Texas — The UTSA women’s golf team has earned a spot in the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-Scholar Team GPA Top 25 for NCAA Division I, a first for the program.

The Roadrunners registered a 3.831 team GPA during the 2025-26 academic year, the 24th-best average team GPA in the sport. This marks the first time in the program’s history, which dates to 2005-06, that UTSA has been honored as one of the top-25 WGCA All-Scholar Teams.

This honor comes on the heels of five student-athletes being named WGCA All-American Scholars earlier this month. Maria Bastarrica, Sydney Bisgrove, Kayla Black, Lauren Rios and Victoria Schuldt all were honored by the organization, which gives the program 11 honorees over the past two years combined.

Earlier this summer, Bastarrica and Rios also were named to the 2026 Academic All-District® Women’s At-Large Team for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom.
