KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Moving the count for the Roadrunners to two players recognized in the past week, the United Soccer Coaches on Monday announced that graduate student defender Kameron Kloza has been named to the NCAA Division I Women’s Players to Watch list for the 2026 intercollegiate season. Kloza becomes the second UTSA player to appear on a United Soccer Coaches preseason watch list after goalkeeper Jasmine Kessler was named on Friday.
A third-year UTSA defender from San Antonio who transferred in from Texas Tech prior to the 2024 season, Kloza was the first player since 2022 named to the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region First Team and was the first UTSA player named American All-Conference First Team at the end of last season. Kloza played 1,768 minutes across 22 games with 17 starts at defender, scoring the game-winning goal against South Florida (Oct. 9) in the program's first win over USF, taking 21 shots with a .381 SOG percentage. She also added a pair of assists on the year. As captain of the Roadrunners’ back line, Kloza was instrumental in one of the stoutest defenses in the country, helping UTSA to the American’s No. 2 goals-against-average (0.90) at 60th in the NCAA rankings. A two-time CSC Academic All-District honoree, Kloza has played 40 games for the Roadrunners, logging three goals, two assists and a .438 SOG percentage – leading the back line while UTSA has held a 0.87 GAA over the past two seasons.
It’s exhibition game week for Kloza and the 2026 Roadrunners, taking on Texas in a ticketed exhibition contest against Texas at Park West at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 5. The reigning American Conference Tournament Champion Roadrunners open the ninth season under head coach Derek Pittman and the program’s 21st season on Aug. 12 at the Park West Athletics Complex.
