SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will continue its fall campaign on Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 21-22, at the Rod Myers Invitational, which will be contested at Duke University Golf Club in Durham, North Carolina.
The Roadrunners will travel a lineup of David Martinez, Francisco Solorza, Gabriel Derbez, Brayden Bare and Sam Acharya for the two-day, 54-hole tournament.
UTSA will compete against Duke, Furman, George Mason, Harvard, North Carolina, Northern Illinois, Princeton, Richmond, UNC Greensboro, UNC Wilmington, Virginia Tech, Wofford and Xavier.
The field will play 36 holes on Monday with the final round slated for Tuesday. Live scoring will be provided at scoreboard.clippd.com.
This will mark UTSA’s second straight trip to the Carolinas, as the Roadrunners are coming off a fourth-place performance at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate on Sept. 6-8 in South Carolina.
Martinez claimed a share of the individual title with a 12-under-par 204 (68-67-69), earning his first collegiate victory and guiding UTSA to fourth place at 9-under 277-293-285—855.
Solorza tied for 19th with a 2-under 214 (71-73-70), while Derbez ended up with a share of 38th at 2-over 218 (71-77-70) and Bare was 59th (70-76-76—222).
