SAN ANTONIO — Fresh off a runner-up performance at The Bruzzy, UTSA will travel to Aurora, Ontario, to compete in the Canadian Collegiate Invitational, which will be co-hosted by Kent State and Michigan on Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 21-22, at Beacon Hall Golf Club.
The Roadrunners will bring a lineup consisting of Victoria Schuldt, Lauren Rios, Maria Bastarrica, Kayla Black and Miah Wanserski for the two-day, 54-hole event held just north of Toronto.
UTSA will line up against Auburn, Kent State, Maryland, Michigan, South Florida, Tennessee, UCLA, UNC Wilmington, Virginia and the University of British Columbia.
The field will play 36 holes on Monday followed by the final round Tuesday. Live scoring will be provided at scoreboard.clippd.com.
The Roadrunners are coming off a second-place showing at The Bruzzy in their season opener on Sept. 8-9. Schuldt captured a share of her first individual crown by firing a collegiate-best 10-under-par 206 (68-67-71) to finish in a five-way tie atop the individual leaderboard.
Lydia Lin also finished in the top 10, placing eighth with an 8-under 208, while Rios was 15th with a 5-under 211 to help guide the Roadrunners to a 21-under 841, the second-best 54-hole total versus par in school history.
This will mark the Roadrunners’ maiden voyage to Canada and their second international trip of the calendar year, as they played in Guadalajara in February. It also will be a homecoming for Black, who hails from Mississauga, Ontario, which is also in the Greater Toronto Area.
