Former collegiate wide receiver Eyan Means is in his first season as UTSA’s assistant wide receivers coach.
Means came to San Antonio from North Shore High School, where he was an assistant coach for wide receivers and returners in 2025. He helped guide the Mustangs to a 14-2 record and the Class 6A Division I State Championship. His receivers combined to catch 184 passes for 3,493 yards and 36 touchdowns with one earning State Championship Game MVP and first-team all-district honors and three additional reeling in second-team all-district accolades.
Means played wide receiver at Texas Southern from 2021 to 2023. He caught six passes for 67 yards and a touchdown in 2022 and had 10 receptions for 112 yards and a TD the following season, averaging 11.2 yards per catch during his time with the Tigers.
The Houston native started his collegiate career at West Texas A&M before transferring to Texas Southern.
Means was a standout wide receiver for North Shore, helping lead the Mustangs to a 16-0 record and the Class 6A Division I crown in 2018. North Shore eventually was named the MaxPreps National Champions that season. He averaged more than eight yards per catch while recording only one drop as a senior.
Means earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing from Texas Southern.
