Reese Vogel joined the UTSA Sports Performance staff in 2025 and was promoted to Senior Associate Director for Sports Performance in Spring 2026.
During his time at UTSA, Vogel has played a key role in advancing the football program’s performance model, developing an annual plan and strengthening collaboration across the strength, nutrition and medical staffs.
Vogel joined the Roadrunners a short stint at UTRGV, where he served as the assistant strength & conditioning coach for the newly launched football program, which held its practice season in 2024.
He previously was a volunteer at Tulane in the summer of 2024 after serving as Abilene Christian’s Department of Sports Science Coordinator and assistant strength & conditioning coach for football in 2023-24. During his time at ACU, he introduced a sports science perspective that added structure and evaluation to training methods.
A former football student-athlete at Pittsburg State in Kansas, Vogel got his start in the industry at his alma mater as a strength & conditioning intern in 2020. He then spent one year at Casady College Preparatory School in Oklahoma City as the strength & conditioning assistant & special teams coordinator.
Vogel then joined the staff at Central Oklahoma as the football sports science director and football strength & conditioning assistant in 2022-23.
Vogel is a member of the National Strength & Conditioning Association and has earned Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Functional Range Assessment Specialist (FRAs), functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist (FRCms) and USA Weightlifting Level One (USAW1) certifications.
