Tam-Anh Nguyen (MS, LAT, ATC) joined the UTSA Sports Medicine staff in October 2022 and works primarily with the women’s basketball program as an Assistant Athletic Trainer.
Nguyen is a native of Houston, Texas and graduated from the Texas in 2019 with her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. After graduation, she went on to the UConn to complete her Master of Science in Exercise Science, graduating in 2022.
While completing coursework, Nguyen provided athletic training coverage at Eastern Connecticut State for the men’s and women’s rugby, ice hockey and cheer teams. She also completed research at UConn and is working to publish her thesis, “The Effects of Biological Sex on Heart Rate Recovery During Exercise in the Heat and Cold.”
In her free time, Nguyen likes to go hiking, snowboarding, play volleyball, basketball, flag football or go bowling. She says her favorite superhero is Black Panther.
