SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA men's cross country and track & field teams took time out of their busy schedule this past weekend to help pick up litter along UTSA Boulevard, which is the main thoroughfare to the Main Campus. All told, more than 100 bags of trash was collected.
It was yet another example of the athletics department's and program's ongoing commitment to serving San Antonio.
Head coach Aaron Fox said he appreciated the efforts of his squad, especially on what was scheduled to be an off day.
"We really feel it's important for us to show that we not only care about UTSA but the city of San Antonio, as well," Fox said. "The kids enjoy being a part of the community and it sends a great message. For these kids to do this on their day off really shows the commitment they have to this city."
