SAN ANTONIO — Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Aaron Fox announced Wednesday the dates for his program's indoor and outdoor track & field meets for the upcoming 2016 season.
UTSA will compete in six indoor meets, starting with the Texas A&M Team Invitational on Jan. 16 in College Station. The Roadrunners then will head to the John Thomas Terriers Classic two weeks later (Jan. 29 [women]/Jan. 30 [men]) before making their second trip to College Station for the Charlie Thomas Invitational (Feb. 5-6) and that will be followed by the Howie Ryan Invitational (Feb. 12). The Conference USA Indoor Championships will take place from Feb. 24-25 and the NCAA Championships will be contested two weeks later (March 11-12). Both postseason meets will take place in Birmingham, Ala.
UTSA will open its outdoor season by hosting three out of its first four meets at Park West Athletics Complex.
The UTSA Invitational will be contested from March 18-19 and the Ricardo Romo Invitational will follow the next weekend from March 24-26. After heading north for the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays (March 30-April 2), the Roadrunners Invitational will take place on April 9.
UTSA also will compete at the Texas Invitational (April 16), Tritons Invitational (April 22-23) and Longhorns Invitational (May 7) before beginning postseason competition at the C-USA Outdoor Championships from May 12-15 in Murfreesboro, Tenn. The NCAA Championships Preliminary Rounds will take place from May 26-28 in Lawrence, Kan. and the NCAA Championships returns to historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., two weeks later (June 8-11).
