HOUSTON — The UTSA men's track & field team posted five top-five finishes at Saturday's Houston Alumni Invitational.
The 400-meter relay team of Joseph Freeman, Jackson Brown, Aaron LeJeune and Jared Taylor led the way after clocking a time of 41.74, which was good for third place.
Meanwhile, Barrett Brock cleared 16-0 ¾ (4.90m) en route to fourth place in the pole vault. Derek Fenton also placed fourth in the shot put with a career-best measurement of 53-5 (16.28m) and Kaylan Harris, who was making his season debut, added a fourth-place performance in the 400m (49.16).
The squad's other top-five effort came from Jake McDaniel, who finished fifth in the javelin with a toss of 152-8 (46.53m).
"I was pleased with how the team competed today," Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Aaron Fox said. "This will assist with our preparation for next weekend's meet in California."
The Roadrunners will be back in action next weekend at the Mt. SAC Relays in Torrance, Calif. The three-day meet is scheduled to get underway on Thursday, April 13.
