SAN ANTONIO – Under the direction of first-year head coach Derek Pittman, the UTSA soccer team opened practice for the 2018 season on Wednesday at the Park West Athletics Complex. The Roadrunners performed fitness testing in the morning followed by a technical warmup and a 45-minute game in the evening session.

In addition to the practice being the first for Pittman and his staff, it was also day one for freshmen Katie Becker, Lexi Bolton, Olivia Futch, Leah Leal, Julia Martinez and Kaitlyn Bumgarner along with sophomore transfer Aarika Oeleis.

UTSA returns to the pitch Thursday morning and again in the evening, mimicking its first day of preseason practices. In between the two sessions, the Roadrunners will participate in team meeting and a lifting session.
