SANTA BARBRA, CALIF. - The UTSA men's tennis team head back home from Santa Barbra, going 1-1 on the road.
On Saturday, UTSA fell to USCB in their first road match since Jan. 14 against Texas with the final match score being 1-6.
"We were up against the wall the first half of the match." UTSA head coach Sergey Avdeyey said. "The match got very close at the end, and it really could've gone either way. We had 3 match points and had a big lead on court 4. I give much credit to our guys who fought back."
In doubles, Sebastian Rodriguez (hometown) and Tiago Torres (hometown) grabbed their first win as a duo, going 6-4 on court 2.
On Sunday, the Roadrunners claimed a 4-1 victory over the Tigers. Freshman Miguel Alonso (Hometown) gets his second singles win in a row, going 7-5, 6-2 on court 6. Rodriguez, Torres and Danijal Muminovic gain the other three wins to help end the weekend trip with pride.
UTSA is now 3-2 so far this season. The Roadrunners will be back in action February 18-19th for the H-E-B Tournament of Champions in Corpus Christi, Texas.
