Williamsburg, VA. - Sebastian Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru) gains his 10th singles win of the season as the UTSA men's tennis team claimed a 4-2 victory over William & Mary at the Millie West Courts on Saturday afternoon.
"This was an important win for us today." Head coach Sergey Avdeyev said. "The guys stepped up after losing the doubles point. There was an electric crowd as it was senior day for The Tribe. This was by far the loudest away match we've played this season. I am happy for the win."
Rodriguez dominated on court 3 in singles as he won 6-1, 6-1 against Sebastian Quiros. Also, freshman Danijal Muminovic (Tuzla, Bosnia) got his 8th win of the season. He went head-to-head with Joseph Brailovsky, recording a 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 triumph on court 4.
In doubles, Garrett Skelly (The Woodlands, Texas) and Maxim Groysman (Bellevue, Wash.) defeat Daniel Pellerito and Finbar Talcott, recording a 6-4 win. This is their 6th win as a team.
UTSA (10-9) travels to Richmond, Virginia tomorrow to face No. 39 VCU with the match time set for 10 a.m.
