SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA men's and women's basketball programs will host Rowdy Jam, an annual tip-off event to celebrate the start of the season on Thursday, Oct. 27 at the Rec Center.
Rowdy Jam will run from 7 – 9 pm at the Rec Center and welcomes all students to come get their first glimpse at the UTSA 2022-23 Men's and Women's Basketball teams. Admission is free for all students who bring their ID to get into the Rec Center.
Pizza will be provided to all students who attend, as well as giveaways at the door. Students can win prizes for various games throughout the event. UTSA alumni John Wynkoop will also be DJ'ing the event.
The Roadrunners will introduce their coaching staffs, including men's head coach Steve Henson and women's head coach Karen Aston, to the crowd, as well as their 2022-23 rosters. Students and fans will be educated on UTSA traditions and will be treated to fan-involvement activities with the UTSA student-athletes.
Both teams open up their season on Nov. 7 as the men host the Trinity Tigers at the Convocation Center at 7 p.m. (CT), while the women head to Nacogdoches, Texas, to face SFA at 6:30 p.m.
