SAN ANTONIO – Fresh off its H-E-B Tournament of Champions victory last weekend, the UTSA men's tennis team continues to roll, earning a 4-2 victory over 53rd-ranked Florida Atlantic on Friday afternoon, marking its fourth straight victory.
The Roadrunners (6-4) earned their second victory over a ranked opponent in the past two seasons and their first since downing #64 Old Dominion last year in the Conference USA Championship. The Owls (6-7) dropped their third match in their last four appearances.

"I'm very proud of our guys for today's win. It truly was a team win. We had guys step up and deliver huge points. Alan (Magadan) had a monster comeback win and Sebastian (Rodriguez) was clutch at the end to secure the victory for us. Florida Atlantic is a great team and we're happy with our performance."
Doubles
In the first action of the afternoon, UTSA claimed the first two doubles matches to earn a 1-0 lead and force the third matchup to go unfinished with the outcome already decided. UTSA shook up its doubles lineup as Tiago Torres teamed up with Alan Magadan to earn a 6-2 victory over Kevin Huempfner/Hunter Robbins of FAU. Tomás Pinho paired up with Sebastian Rodriguez as the two were able to dispatch Florida Atlantic's Joao Graca/Filip Krolo, 6-4. With UTSA winning the first two matchups, it secured the doubles point and Jackson Ross/Garrett Skelly's match went unfinished.
Singles
Following doubles play, the Owls responded by taking the first match of singles action as Graca defeated Pinho, (6-2, 2-6, 6-1). The Roadrunners struck back by taking the next two singles matches, taking a decisive 3-1 lead in the match. Skelly earned UTSA's second point, downing Alvaro Forta Hernandez (7-5, 7-6) and Magadan notched the third as he disposed of Alberto Colas (2-6, 6-2, 6-1). Florida Atlantic regained some momentum as Robbins took down Ross (4-6, 6-3, 6-0) to make it a 3-2 match in favor of the Roadrunners. Rodriguez was able to come through in the clutch though, as the senior defeated FAU's Krolo (6-4, 77-65) to secure the UTSA victory. With the outcome already in tow, Torres had his singles match go unfinished.
