SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA men’s tennis team (6-7) capped the week with another win via sweep on Sunday afternoon, topping UT Arlington (5-6) on Sunday at the UTSA Tennis Center and notching a 2-0 week for the Roadrunners.
Much like the win over 60th-ranked Utah State on Friday, UTSA delivered a quick 2-0 win for the doubles point, as Garrett Skelly and Jackson Ross blew past Yazid Lahjomri and Pedro Sasso on court two with a 6-0 victory. Taking the court together for the second time, Miguel Alonso and Alan Magadan finished off Solano Caffarena and Andres Medus on court three to push UTSA ahead with the doubles win.
The Roadrunners registered singles wins in the first set on four flights, wrapping first on court four with a 6-4, 6-2 Danijal Muminovic besting of Sasso, then quickly followed by Ross on five with a 6-3, 6-4 defeat of Medus. Clinching the victory for the Roadrunners, Tomás Pinho delivered a commanding third set after the second set slipped away, finishing off Caffarena, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 for the 4-0 UTSA win.
The remaining Roadrunners were in good position for points on their respective courts when the match went final.
