SAN ANTONIO – This is the final regular season weekend of the 2023-24 track & field season for the UTSA Roadrunners, who are traveling a large squad for competition at Mike A. Myers Stadium for the Texas Invitational, Friday and Saturday in Austin.
The Roadrunners will see 45 athletes in action across the two-day meet at the home of the Texas Longhorns, marking the second UTSA visit to the state capital this season and the second consecutive year appearing in this meet.
UTSA totaled eight top-five finishes in last year’s Texas Invitational. Returning this weekend from that group, Jemuel Miller finished second among collegiate performers and third overall with a triple jump mark of 15.50m (50-10.25), while Idol Ramon was the runner-up in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a 9:31.43 clocking.
In UTSA’s most-recent visit to Austin for the 96th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, Norwegian rookie and All-American Ida Breigan made her outdoor debut in the long jump, earning third place with a 6.48 (21-3.25) measurement. Breigan has since hit a 6.74m leap and leads the NCAA women’s long jump standings. On the final day of the Texas Relays, the men’s 4x400-meter relay squad of Martín Kouyoumdjian, Noah Rhodes, Nabil Tezkratt and Mike Roth produced a combined 3:07.30 and drove to the second-fastest time in UTSA history. Coming down the stretch on the final leg after passing Oklahoma State, Roth raised his arms in victory as he raced past Purdue’s anchor in the final 50 meters to win the event’s final with a 45.96 leg time. Dennis Phillips hit a wind-aided career best of 10.13 seconds in the 100-meter to come in as the top collegiate finisher and sixth overall. In the men’s 200-meter Invitational, Brice Chabot also came in as the top NCAA DI finisher, and ninth overall, with a 20.72 clocking.
This two-day meet measures the Roadrunners against athletes from Houston, Indiana, New Orleans, Notre Dame, SMU, Texas, Texas State, Wisconsin, UT Arlington and countless unattached and professional competitors.
Friday's schedule is set for a 12 p.m. start time in the men's and women's long jump and will run through 7:05 p.m. for the men's 5,000-meter. Saturday will begin at 9 a.m. for the women's hammer and finish with the men's 4x400-meter relay set at 4:25 p.m.

The American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships are heading to San Antonio for UTSA’s first year in the conference, scheduled for May 10-12 at the Park West Athletics Complex.
