UTSA Fall World Series Concludes

SAN ANTONIO— UTSA Baseball closed out its fall World Series with the Orange team winning the series, sweeping the Blue team. The Orange squad took game one by a score of 4-2 and game two 7-3.

On the opening night of the series, the Orange team played host to the blue team. In the first game on Friday night, both sides saw great starting pitchers in Rob Orloski and Zach Royse as the score was knotted at zero until the bottom of the fifth.

The Orange team jumped to a two-run lead in the bottom of the fifth. Thanks to a solo deep fly, the orange team extended its lead to three runs. The Blue team wouldn’t go down without a fight, shortening the lead to just one run by scoring two in the bottom of the seventh.

The Orange team scored one last run in the bottom of the eighth for extra insurance. The Blue team was unable to answer back in their final three outs.

The Roadrunners got back into action Saturday, with the Blue team hosting the Orange team. Orange took ahold of the lead early as they managed to put one run on the board in the first inning.

The Orange team managed to extend their lead in the top of the second on a solo home run. The Blue team showed life as they managed to tie the game at two’s a piece in the bottom of the second.

The Orange team would hold the Blue team scoreless for the next four innings. In the third inning, the Orange team recorded two runs and followed up the third with a three-run inning in the fourth.

The Blue team managed to score one run in the seventh innings as the game would come to a close with the Orange team winning 7-3.

The Roadrunners will take on Navarro at the Bird Bath at 2 p.m. on Nov. 1 to continue their Fall contests.
