Runners on the Rise: UTSA Once Again Sets Fall Attendance Records

SAN ANTONIO – It was another record-setting fall for UTSA Athletics in its second season as a member of the American Athletic Conference. As part of the department’s impressive trajectory, fans have continued to support the Roadrunners with record-breaking attendance and ticket sales figures.

Football

  • The Roadrunners sold 10,035 season football tickets in 2024, marking the most season tickets sold since the 2015 campaign.
  • At the 2024 season opener, UTSA welcomed its two-millionth all-time fan through the doors at the Alamodome. The total all-time attendance for UTSA Football, which began in 2011, stands at 2,114,786.
  • UTSA has tied its school record with 10 consecutive victories at home entering the 2025 campaign. The Roadrunners were 6-0 in the Alamodome during the 2024 season, making head coach Jeff Traylor 29-3 (.906) all-time at home in five seasons leading the program.
  • UTSA honored San Antonio’s Hometown Heroes in 2024, including Educators, First Responders, Healthcare, Local Businesses, Armed Forces & Veterans and Essential Workers.

Soccer

  • For the second consecutive season, UTSA led the American Athletic Conference in average attendance. The Roadrunners also ranked second in the AAC in total attendance.
  • The Roadrunners totaled the third-most fans in program history with 6,137 fans attending home matches during the 2024 season. UTSA has recorded two of the top-three all-time season attendance marks in the past two years.
  • UTSA welcomed 1,268 fans to its match against Tulsa, marking the second-most attended match in the history of Park West.
  • To celebrate soccer in the San Antonio community, the Roadrunners played UIW at Toyota Field, home of the USL’s San Antonio FC, with 1,459 fans attending.

Volleyball

  • The Roadrunners set a school record for total attendance for the second consecutive season with 13,794 fans passing through the turnstiles during the 2024 campaign.
  • UTSA ranked second in the American Athletic Conference in total attendance behind Wichita State, which also hosted the AAC Tournament. The Roadrunners ranked top-70 in the nation in attendance.
  • UTSA welcomed 1,000 or more fans to the Convo in five single matches this season. The Roadrunners’ crowd of 1,246 against Texas State marked the largest home audience since 2017.
  • UTSA volleyball season ticket sales increased 31 percent for the 2024 season, setting a school record for season tickets sold for the second consecutive year.
  • For the first time in school history, UTSA offered courtside seating options at volleyball matches.
