SAN ANTONIO — Junior outfielder Drew Detlefsen was awarded American Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league announced at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Mar. 10.
Detlefsen batted .500 on the week recording eight hits including one double and one home run. Detlefsen also had seven total RBIs on the week. Detlefsen impacted the base paths as he stole three bases this week. In the 7-4 victory over Texas Southern on Sunday, Mar. 9, Detlefsen was the one who drove in the go-ahead run on his single in the eighth.
For the second week in a row, a UTSA student-athlete was named player of the week by the conference office. Mason Lytle was the first Roadrunner, winning on Monday, Mar. 3. Also, this week, Robert Orloski was listed as an honorable mention. Both Caden Miller and Braylon Owens have also been named to the honor roll this season.
