UTSA to battle Baylor in midweek bout

The Roadrunners and Bears will battle at Getterman Stadium in Waco, Texas

SAN ANTONIO—The UTSA softball team will head to Waco, Texas, where a Wednesday matchup against Big 12 foe Baylor awaits at 6:30 p.m. in Getterman Stadium.

The Roadrunners (15-22, 2-13 The American) will look to bounce back after falling to North Texas across a trio of American Athletic Conference contests last time out.

The Bears (18-21, 7-8 Big 12) are fresh off a sweep over Houston and are one of the top defensive teams in the nation, turning 23 double plays for the sixth most in the NCAA. Presleigh Pilon and Amber Toven have played a major role in their success, as Pilon's 109 assists rank second and Toven's 92 sit 14th.

Offensively, Shaylon Govan holds an on-base percentage of .602, representing the country's sixth-highest, and she's walked 0.97 times a game, ranking ninth. She tops the team with a .413 AVG and a 1.302 OPS, while Turiya Coleman hits .367 AVG.

In the circle, the staff boasts a 4.00 ERA, led by Lillie Walker, who is going 7-6 with a 2.60 era. Lexie Warncke sits behind her with five wins on the year, while  Sadie Ross and Dariana Orme have three victories apiece.
