Junior (2023): Posted a 1-2 record across 11 appearances and six starts… best outing came against powerhouse Dallas Baptist on May 14, pitching three innings of one-hit ball… earned his win against Louisiana Tech on May 19, allowing just two runs on two hits in 5.0 IP… played for the State College Spikes of the MLB Draft League over the summer.
Sophomore (2022): Went 1-0 in 14 appearances, making seven starts and toting a 4.82 ERA … recorded 18.2 innings pitched where he allowed 10 runs on 12 hits, walking 19 and striking out 17 … went a season-high 2.2 innings at Oklahoma and fanned a career-high five batters … started UTSA’s 5/28 game against No. 14 Southern Miss, tossing a hitless/scoreless inning and punching out two batters.
Freshman (2021): Went 0-3 with a 9.98 ERA in seven games with two starts … worked 15.1 innings, allowing 19 hits and 16 walks, striking out 14 … worked in three C-USA games with one start, owning a 0-1 record and a 12.46 ERA … tossed 8.2 league innings, allowing 13 runs and 10 walks, striking out 10 … tossed an inning at Sam Houston in his UTSA debut … went two shutout innings at TAMU-CC … suffered an extra-inning loss at No. 15 LSU where UTSA had made a lineup change and was without any available pitchers in the 13th inning, forcing Ward to record an at-bat at Alex Box Stadium … worked three innings with four earned runs allowed in a start vs. USM … tossed four innings with four runs allowed vs. No. 18 ODU … worked 1.2 innings in relief at No. 14 LA Tech. Summer: Appeared in 13 games in relief for the Blues in the CCL … had a 3-1 record and a 2.66 ERA with a save … worked 27 innings, allowing 21 hits and 18 walks, striking out 30 … worked a summer-high 4.1 innings for the win on Aug. 4 in his final outing of the season, fanning four … made summer debut on June 23 with a shutout inning … earned the win with two shutout innings on June 27 … worked two shutout innings with four strikeouts on July 8.
PRIOR TO UTSA
High School: Three-year letterwinner at Clemens High School … earned District 26-6A Academic All-District honors all three years … garnered All-District Second Team accolades in 2019 … helped his team to the 2017 District Championship and Bi-District Championship.
